Sewing is the greatest lost skill in my opinion and I am so excited that we have found the perfect mentor to step you through this beginners online course.
Kate is a talented sewer who gets much joy from teaching others how to make their own clothes and accessories. It is under the expert guidance of Kate and the technical support of me (Carlie) that we will show you how to get to know your sewing machine and make a gorgeous skirt and drawstring bag in the process!
- Cut your fabric pieces
- Sew the sides, waistband and hem
- Insert elastic
- Finish waistband
- Model your new skirt!
- Optional ideas to hack the pattern – pockets, buttons, trims

We will connect with a Zoom link emailed to you one day before the event and you will have 14 days access to the recorded workshop. You will be able to ask or type questions for facilitator to answer in real time.
What you need to provide:
Material for skirt
Any extra embellishments you want (buttons, ribbon etc).
Don't have a sewing machine?
If you live locally, we have 3 machines that can be loaned to you (pick-up only) with a $100 deposit. You will get this money back at the conclusion of the workshop when machine is returned in same condition.
As a Social Enterprise, we put 50% of our profits towards education and development of free and low cost workshops for parents at risk of postnatal anxiety and depression.
