Logan Mums and Bubs Workshops
Time & Location
About The Event
We are proud to be partnering with Logan City Council Libraries as part of the First 5 Forever initiative to bring new parents and expectant mothers a series of three educational craft workshops. Each workshop will have you making a product to use with your baby whilst giving you a moment to sit, relax and get to know other parents in your community.
Workshops will be held in the beautiful Logan Art Gallery with founder or Mumma Got Skills and registered teacher, Carlie Daly. Carlie will be on hand to craft, offer guidance and answer any baby education related questions.
No skills required for any of these workshops, we will gently step you through each process.
So here they are!
Wednesday 21st August
Black and White Sensory Board Workshop
A sensory board is made up of different textures and shapes in shades of black and white. Black and White because it is most engaging for baby due to the high contrast.
Wednesday 4th September
Sensory Hoop Workshop
A sensory hoop is a tool used for encouraging babies to explore different materials to develop awareness and sensory perception. On a large hoop, you will be given access to many different materials that you can tie, sew, loop or knot in place.
Wednesday 18th September
Farmyard Finger Puppet Workshop
Stitch your own set of cute farm animal finger puppets to enjoy with your child. All designs come pre-cut so you can easily complete the set (even with a babe in arms). Have no fear from home-economics classes past, you will succeed with these and feel super proud when they are complete!
If you want to book into all workshops, you are more that welcome to do so but please, if you think you won't be able to attend some, please just book individual tickets. We rely on healthy sized groups to keep this all going. We ask that you only book for yourself and get your friends to book their own tickets so we can keep on top of it all!
Why does these workshops exist?
Here are Mumma Got Skills, we hope to show parents that meaningful learning toys and experiences are so much more fulfilling when made by you! We also know what it's like to lose a sense of your identity as you busy yourself with the all consuming needs of your baby. We love our babies of course, but we also require the space to free our minds and busy our hands. That's why these workshops exist, to provide you with the chance to make something totally guilt free while your babies mingle.
