About The Event
Join us for this special event of music, movement and craft brought to you by Caroline of Kindermusik and Carlie of Mumma Got Skills. Bring your Bub (newborn - 12 months) and have a morning of bird themed fun! Caroline will lead you through a 45 minute class of music, singing and movement and Carlie will help you craft your own finger puppet to take home.
Young babies thrive on exploring sounds from nature who better to model singing than the birds! From our local Kookaburra to Eastern Bluebirds your child will be exposed to new ways to connect sound & movement. Vocalisation can be a wonderful place to introduce and copy the best singers of all - the birds! We will be exploring finger & action rhymes, lap bounces, group dancing and instrument listening & play all based around our bird theme. Our class will be full of words and song for your baby to enjoy and of course time to rest! At home you can continue to explore with our take home CD and instrument.
Finger Puppets are a language and storytelling tool that can enhance interaction between parent and child. In the first year of life, babies are absorbing the environment around them and forming brain connections that will develop into oral language. You will be given a pack containing all materials to complete one rainbow bird finger puppet including, felt, cotton, sewing needle and a printed Indigenous Australian story; How the birds got their colours. Together, we make puppets at our leisure, sharing refreshments and chat while you are free to attend to your babies.
This multi-sensory experience will give you some skills to take away and work with your baby and give you a chance to meet and chat with other mums.
